Certified Law Enforcement/Corrections Positions
We require you to:
- Be a minimum of 19 years of age.
- Be State of Florida Certified in Discipline related to position.
- Be a Citizen of the United States.
- Be a High School Graduate or possess a G.E.D. Certificate.
- Possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- If discharged from the Military under honorable conditions (if applicable), provide a valid DD 214.
- No convictions of any felony or a misdemeanor involving perjury, false statement, or crime of domestic violence.
- Be of good moral character.
- Successfully complete our fitness assessment.
- Pass a medical examination, drug screen and eye examination.
- Meet the drug policy standards.
- Undergo a polygraph, background investigation, and psychological test.
Civilian Non-Certified Positions
We require you to:
- Be a minium of 18 years of age.
- Be a Citizen of the United States or resident alien.
- Be a High School Graduate or possess a G.E.D. Certificate.
- Possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- No convictions of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or false statement.
- If discharged from the Military under honorable conditions (if applicable), provide a valid DD 214.
- Type 50 wpm for Secretarial positions, 35 wpm for Clerical positions and 25 wpm for Communications and Teletype positions.
- Meet the drug policy standards.
- Pass medical examination. In addition, Communications applicants must pass a hearing examination.
- Undergo a polygraph and background investigation. (CPS applicants will be required to pass a Psychological Exam.)
