The Personnel Unit is responsible for many activities that affect all Bureaus of the agency, but especially the screening and processing of applicants for employment with the Sheriff’s Office.  Other important responsibilities include the recruitment, testing and background checks for all perspective employees and the maintenance of employment records for current and former employees.  There are currently over 1,100 full-time Sheriff’s Office employees.
